Much to my surprise, birthday week continued the whole week (I should have known). Right now, I’m with Caroline in San Francisco. Inside the Apple store no less. More updates later. DAY 1 For all you player haters, here’s a recap of birthday weekend, part two. Friday – Caroline and I boarded a Southwest flight [...]

So last night, as Montez Birthday week continued, Caroline and I went to Cafe Med on Sunset. The food was al-ight, it did its thing, I was tasting it. The place is very nice and I recommend sitting on the patio if you get the chance. A lot of good people watching. So Caroline and [...]

So today is Saint Patrick’s Day. Known to many as a drinking holiday, St. Patrick’s Day started when a group of Irish folk decided that Mexican’s had too many customs that revolved around drinking. So, not to be out done, they got drunk. They did this for sixty-five days in a row until they could [...]

So last night was the Lakers vs. Magic game. AKA – the birthday game. It started as a close game and T-MAC turned it into a blowout. But Kobe would have none of that and, with the team down by 15, he scored 24 in the final quarter to take the game into OT. The [...]

Well, first off. Thanks to all who participated in the Montez Birthday weekend. I had a great time and I enjoyed spending time with you all. Below is a recap of the weekend. Friday – Canters for lunch, Rhino for dinner. Toby, Regul, Eugene, Jung, Page, and I went to the Spearmint Rhino at Downtown [...]

Last night, Survivor was great, The Donald was good too. The Lakers play tonight. Should be a good game. The full DREAM TEAM should be on the floor. Let’s see how they play. My birthday is Monday. That makes this my OFFICAL Birthday Weekend. Here’s what I know. Friday – tonight – we are going [...]

Ryan sent me this link. It’s cool. If you look at the image, you can see the house I grew up in, the elementary school I went to (on the far left), and the Junior High I went to (on the lower right). What a great place to grow up. Find your own house here.

These last three days have quite chill. At work, it’s been a steady stream of work that makes the day fly by. At home, a regular routine of poker party planning and TV watching. I don’t know if it’s a calm before the storm scenario, or if this is how life is supposed to be. [...]

WOW! what a great weekend. The weather was great. 80 degrees and breezy. The fire department stopped by our house on Thursday. I still am not 100% sure why. Caroline, Kelly, Brian and I had dinner at Daltz in Burbank on Friday night. Then went to the Burbank Holiday Inn for some karaoke. >>SIDE NOTE<< [...]

My order of poker chips just arrived. I thought they would be “cheaper” feeling, but they are not. They feel good and are easy to shuffle. They are about the same weight as Toby’s chips. Not bad for $0.10/ea. Check out www.5stardeal.com to pick up your own set.

This morning, I realized that I hate getting up in the morning. I have never liked getting out of bed. Jr. High, it took my dad to dump glasses of water to wake me up. I was often late to class in high school. When I made it to college in Iowa, all my classes [...]

It’s been a slow couple of days, life wise. I’ve been messing with the blog code, as well as buying new domains to create new sites. www.EightyFirstStreet.com should be up and running soon. I was thinking of making it into a poker info sight. With discussion boards and tips, etc. It will also host the [...]

This weekend, another Apple Store opened. This time in San Francisco. People often argue which computer platform is “better”, Apple or WinTel. I’m not going to rehash the argument for the sake of hearing myself talk, but we all know that 1200 people have never lined up or slept outside on the street in front [...]

New entry in the music/media section This was Academy Awards weekend. I watched; I was bored. Billy is past his prime. Quit it Billy; just stop. I started a new book. It’s about the history of Las Vegas. I’m also reading some Plato. Yum! This weekend was quiet. I started off by playing a little [...]
